In old Georgian and dialectal speech, აღია or აღიელი was most frequently used to describe animals—particularly horses, hunting hounds (მწევრები), or cattle—that possessed a striking "glass eye" or mismatched eye coloring. In pastoral communities, this was a highly specific physical marker.
